John Foley Hindman

John Foley Hindman

I am a thoroughly proven writer/editor and communications professional who can produce/craft clear, direct, and elegant prose on any given subject. I was for 14 years the Associate Director of Public Affairs at The Art Institute of Chicago, and, more recently, Director of Public Affairs for The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Recent clients include include KUSC-FM, the country's largest classical music radio station, whose monthly members’ publication I edit; the Einstein Papers Project at CalTech; and Scarlet Fire Entertainment production company.

Over my career, I've developed a versatility and flexibility that comes from constructing stories on a wide range of subjects and sharing them with the media. Doing this sort of thing well one becomes, in a way, the mirror image of a good journalist. In writing--and editing (following both Chicago Manual and AP Stylebook styles)--my specialty has been taking arcane material and translating it into topics of interest to both specialists and the general public.
